I test-drove the Haval H7 2021 model, and honestly, I think it’s a solid SUV with plenty of features. The design is bold and eye-catching, with a wide front grille that gives it a strong presence, and the 20-inch wheels add a sporty touch. Inside, the brown upholstery with chrome and wood accents gives a premium feel, and the 9-inch screen works well. Space is excellent — I’m 177 cm tall and felt comfortable in both the front and back seats, and the panoramic sunroof adds a spacious feel. The 2.0 turbo engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox delivers strong performance, especially in sport mode.
As for the downsides: the suspension is a bit stiff and noticeable over bumps, sound insulation isn’t great at high speeds, and fuel consumption in the city goes over 10L/100km — even more with the A/C on. Overall, it’s a strong car at a reasonable price, especially since they added more features without raising the price. I think it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a well-equipped and affordable SUV.

I bought the car mainly for its looks — it’s really bold and distinctive. The interior follows Haval’s familiar style, and the engine feels strong and solid. Fuel consumption isn’t low, but I never bought it to save fuel anyway; that’s normal for a vehicle this size. Safety was one of my top reasons for choosing it, and I genuinely feel secure while driving. The cabin is very spacious — I got the 5-seater version and it’s super comfortable. My fuel consumption is about 18–22 in the city and 14–16 on the highway, probably because of some aero mods I added that increased drag. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the car.

From the moment I heard the name "Haval Jolion" — which literally means "First Love" — I was intrigued by the name before even seeing the car. I decided to test drive the 2021 full-option model with a 1.5L turbocharged engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The exterior is modern and clean — a compact 5-door SUV about 4.47 meters long and 1.84 meters wide — making it a great fit as a small family car.
The price here is around AED 129,000 if paid in full. If you go with a 3-year installment plan with a 30% down payment, the monthly payment is about AED 2,360. With interest, the total cost comes to approximately AED 135,000.
Acceleration is decent — not sporty, but definitely not slow either. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in about 9.9 seconds, which is more than enough for daily driving. Braking performance is solid and reliable — it stops smoothly from 100 km/h to 0 in around 38.7 meters.
Fuel economy is excellent: on the highway, it averages 5.9 L/100 km, and in the city it’s about 7.6 L/100 km — especially with the auto start-stop feature helping save fuel at traffic lights.
As for cabin noise, you’ll hear some tire and wind noise at higher speeds, but the engine runs smoothly, and at 120 km/h, the noise level is around 68 dB — not too loud. Overall, this car offers great value for money, especially for anyone looking for their first budget-friendly SUV that delivers both comfort and features.

Honestly, the moment I saw the car, its design grabbed my attention. The front has a wide grille with horizontal lines that gives the car a broader, more commanding look. The C-shaped fog lights add a sporty touch. From the side, the lines are clean and smooth, and with the pronounced wheel arches and beautiful 20-inch alloy wheels, the car really gives off a premium and solid presence. Even the rear end looks bold and masculine, with straight lines, dual exhausts, and chrome accents.
Inside, the brown color scheme they call "Monica Brown" gives the cabin a classy feel, enhanced by chrome details and wood-style trim that make the space look elegant. The 9-inch infotainment screen runs the "Flying Fish 2.0" system and supports voice commands for controlling the AC, windows, navigation, media, and even phone calls. It’s easy to use and responds quickly — I didn’t notice any lag. The large panoramic sunroof adds a great sense of space and comfort inside.
As for space, it's excellent. I'm 177 cm tall, and in the front seat, there's about a fist and a half of headroom. Moving to the back, using the same seat position, there's about a fist of headroom and over two fists of legroom. The seats themselves are comfortable, so overall, it’s a spacious and comfy ride for both the driver and passengers.
Performance-wise, the car comes with a 2.0 turbo engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. While driving, you can really feel the strong torque. The throttle responds quickly, and there’s a noticeable push-back when accelerating. In sport mode, it feels more aggressive, like it just wants to go. Overall, the performance is impressive for its class and price point.
Of course, like any car, it’s not perfect:
Comfort over rough roads: The suspension is on the stiff side. When going over bumps or potholes, passengers in the back might feel a bit of discomfort.
Sound insulation: At high speeds, wind and tire noise become noticeable inside the cabin, which affects the overall comfort.
Fuel consumption: In the city, it goes over 10L/100km, and even higher with the AC on. On the highway, it's slightly better at around 9L/100km.
The Haval H7 delivers a strong design, premium features, good safety tech, and a competitive price — especially with the current discounts. What’s great is that they added more features without increasing the price. All in all, it’s a solid SUV that truly deserves a spot on your shortlist.

I go off-road and on desert trips quite often, so durability was one of my top priorities when choosing a car. Honestly, the Haval H9 proved itself more than capable. It handles rough terrain effortlessly, even in stock condition. The seats are really comfortable, there’s plenty of space, and the suspension is soft enough to keep things smooth even on bumpy, unpaved roads. I recently checked the used market, and to my surprise, the car’s value hasn’t dropped much — it really holds its resale value well.
Now, the interior does have its downsides. It doesn’t quite reflect the tough and premium look the car has from the outside. The design is a bit dated and the materials used are average. I wish it felt more modern. Around the gear lever, there isn’t enough storage — there are too many buttons cramped into a small area, so there's nowhere convenient to put things like your wallet or phone. I usually just leave them on the passenger seat.
The car is quite big, which can make driving in the city a bit stressful. Sometimes I find a perfect parking spot but can’t even get the car into it, especially in tight streets. But once you’re out on a trip or heading off-road, the size becomes an advantage, not a drawback. The H9 is incredibly spacious, both for passengers and in the boot. The second row is really comfortable, even for tall adults — you can stretch your legs with no problem. The boot has great capacity, but it’s a bit high off the ground, so loading and unloading heavy luggage takes a bit of effort.
As for performance, I wasn’t expecting much. I drove the 2.0 turbo engine with an 8-speed gearbox — a setup I’ve tried before — and I assumed it would be average. But it surprised me. Acceleration was smooth and strong, and driving felt easy. The torque kicks in early, so it doesn’t feel heavy or sluggish, even when fully loaded. On the highway, the cabin is surprisingly quiet — excellent insulation from wind, road, and engine noise. You can speak at a normal volume without needing to raise your voice, which is a big plus for me.
The 4WD system is very smart, just like the one in the Tank 500. It’s got low and high range, front and rear diff locks, and a proper ladder frame chassis — this car is built for serious off-roading. It’s clear that Haval has put in the work here. Among local Chinese brands, Haval’s off-road capabilities are arguably the best. Honestly, when I look at something like the Jetour Traveller — which sells for a similar price but is smaller and less capable — it just makes more sense to go for the H9.
All in all, if you’re looking for a bold, reliable, and comfortable SUV that can take on any off-road challenge while also being smooth on the highway, the Haval H9 is a solid choice. Yes, the interior could use a refresh, but it still gives you a lot for the money, and it’s a car you can count on.
